Thamar King, Stour Provost, Dorset
« on: Saturday 02 June 18 09:35 BST (UK) »
Hi

I'm stuck! Probably because I'm still a novice at all this.

In my family tree, I have an 8th Great Grandmother called Thamar King. I don't have a birth date, but I believe she died in the year of 1731, Stour Provost. Her husband was William King born 1702, so King obviously isn't her maiden name.

Just wondering if anyone had come across Thamar King as Dorset based relative or knows how I can find her parents, or in fact anything at all.

She died 1732;
Burial;
THAMAR King, 18 April 1732, Stower-Provost, Stower-Provost, Dorset
WILLIAM King may have been buried 24 October 1756

I can find 3 children to them;
Christenings;
PETER 1 May 1717
MARY 14 Dec 1718
JOSEPH 17 Nov 1723

Sorry cant find a Marriage that fits.
As only 3 children found Thamar may have been older when married and possibly widowed.

Trish :)

There is a Thamar King buried on 16th April 1732 at Stour Provost and a Thomar King buried on 22nd April 1732 at Stour Provost.

From Dorset OPC  a burial of a Thomas King on 18th April 1732:

Confusion of name and dates probably due to the condition of the register.  I've transcribed some so I know how tricky some entries can be!

I've had a look at the Stour Provost burial register image.....it's not the best and no details of age or relationships.  :-\
