William Jolly and Mary Jane Graham
« on: Saturday 02 June 18 17:03 BST (UK) »
Hi I'm looking for the deaths of the above couple
What I do know is
William was born to John Jolly and Marjory Sidey about 1835 in Angus Scotland he emigrated to Ontario between 1851 and 1861 where he married Mary 7 Jan 1862 at Wentworth

They had 7 children
Phyiiis b about 1863
Ernest born 1868
Ida born 1870
Lottie born 1872
Herbert born 1876
Unknown daughter born 1878
Justice born 1880 at Hamilton Wentworth Ontario
After this I lose track of them
The sons Ernest Herbert and Justice moved to America as I have traced them there but no sign of the others
Thank you

1871 census in Hamilton - William is a machinist.  Name is Jolley here.

It might be him...

I looked on the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid site.

There is a William Jolly buried in Hamilton in the Christ Church Cathedral cemetery, section A.  Also in the same cemetery... an infant daughter (unnamed) and a Jane Jolly.

Worth checking

Thank you for this does the fact they have the same ref number indicate they are buried in the same grave as now I'm try to figure out who Jane maybe as he was the only member of his immediate family who came to Canada the rest went to Australia His closest relative would be his cousins but they were in Cartwright and children of his aunt so not Jolly's

I don't think so... I think the reference is to the cemetery transcription that has been done by the Hamilton branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society.

You can contact either the Hamilton OGS or the Hamilton Public Library (where the collection is kept) and you can request a look up.
