I am attaching photo taken with an iPad from an original that is too big to scan.  I am hoping for an enhanced image.

There is nothing useful on the reverse and MSC was born in 1817 and died in 1884 so I guess the photo was taken later in her life.

I will also shortly be posting a photo of her husband and my 2nd great grandfather, William Chavasse who was born in 1800 and also died in 1884.

IMHO, the Rootschat 500 KB posting limit makes it difficult to restore larger photos well (though the quality of your resized photo was excellent!).

Carol,  I haven't missed any of them.  They have all been downloaded to my PC and I appreciate the efforts of all concerned.

I have also had a lot of help on other boards, particularly with my South African ancestors and I regret that I haven't used Roots Chat sooner.
