There are 2 George Thomas Goodwin on the Qld electoral rolls for 1913 and 1915.
There are no George Goodwin on Asst Qld passenger lists 1842-1912 but there is a Thomas age 23 in 1874, arr Rockhampton.  Or he could have arr. Sydney or NSW and settled in Qld later.
One was a clerk suggesting some education, the other a carrier/labourer.
Unfortunately neither has a wife living at the same address, so she could be deceased or he was unmarried.
There are however 2 Qld marriages  1879 and 1892 for GG, no middle initial.
My feeling is that as his parents are listed on the death record, someone close to him knew those details e.g. chn?
Not sure if you are familiar with Australian records by ours are by State and not National.

Hi Geoff

Just copying this from your other thread (coz I'm lazy and it saves me flipping back and forth!).  My finds are similar to shume's

Looking for George after 1861.

b. 1849 Ironbridge, Shropshire.

Parents = William and Elizabeth F, nee Boycott.

1861 [Hackney] census ref: Piece: 156; Folio: 178; Page: 72

The B in his death index entry denotes that the registration was in Brisbane
He seems to have been buried at Toowong cemetery

https://graves.brisbane.qld.gov.au/
GOODWIN   GEORGE, date of service: 04-12-1915

I have looked at TROVE newspapers and can't see a death/funeral notice for him.

None of these seem to fit very well:
Australian Electoral Rolls (from 1903 on)
Electoral rolls do not show relationships.
1903 George Thomas GOODWIN, labourer, at Mudgeeraba which is about 80k from Brisbane
There are electoral roll entries for a George Thomas GOODWIN in the same area up to 1916 (sometimes they were a bit slow to remove names).  There's also a George Thomas GOODWIN at St George, 500k west of Brisbane.

If he was either of these it seems odd that he died and was buried in Brisbane, but he could have been visiting there - burials were done quickly in summer.

There's this chap also but, again, there's not much to go on, and you would think there would have been a death notice if this is him.

1903
George GOODWIN, watchmaker, Brown St, Kingsholme (suburb of Brisbane)
Also at Brown St - George GOODWIN jnr, bootmaker, Agnes Amelia GOODWIN hd, Margaret GOODWIN, hd

Sorry, not much help  :(

Hi.

1905 Queensland State Electoral Roll
THE ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF ALBERT
Southport Division

GOODWIN, George Thomas, age 54, Por 50, parish of Mudgeeraba, labourer.
Qualified to be on the roll by residence, 21st April 1903.

(his age of 54 would have been his age when qualified to be on the roll, 1903, so a birth of around 1849 if the facts are reasonably accurate)

Think its a big jump from teacher 1875 to labourer and 1915 Elec Roll has him as a clerk at Southport, Nerang.
Still think the fact that his parents were given on death record indicates person close to him.
Try JudyWebsters website for Qld records.
