http://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/blogs/biographical-database-australia-bda-0

The date of the trial is given :
His trial was in June 1800 at Loughrea, Gal,  as per his Conditional Pardon as indexed  in NSW Australia ...

Biographical Database of Australia has 13 plus entries for him.

JM

Has there been research seeking out the trial info ... or newspaper reports etc.

......
I am trying to find out what Patrick Hanrahan did to be sent to Australia.
.......

http://www.jimfleming.id.au/Biog%20Patrick%20(I)%20Hanrahan.htm  this bio on Patrick shows concern for which vessel transported him to New South Wales ... Atlas 1 or Atlas 2... both arrived in 1802.

https://australianroyalty.net.au/individual.php?pid=I31070&ged=purnellmccord.ged  there seems to be another family history buff also interested in Patrick ... they have his NSW death cert.

https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland/galway/message-board/patrick-hanrahan  this link says he was convicted of murder

https://www.oberonreview.com.au/story/5009034/the-road-to-black-springs-history-becomes-a-lot-more-accessible/   recent newspaper article, Oberon, NSW with photo ...

:) I can see from Peter Mayberry’s site that a Patrick Hanratty was aged 14 when he arrived Sydney NSW on Atlas 1 in 1802.  He was sentenced at Dundalk, Louth, 7 years, a Rebel.

:) I can see from same site that a Patrick HANIAGHAN/HANDERHAND/HANNAGHAN was aged 18 when he arrived on Atlas 2, in 1802.  He was sentenced at Loughrea, Galway, Life.   NO MENTION of Rebel.

I wonder if the thread should be moved to Galway?

Sorry I have not been able to help further, I have lent several of my trusty reference note books on a long term basis to a Uni student researching NSW convicts pre Macquarie.  :)

Thanks JM  There's lots of useful info there for us to follow up.
I was particularly interested in the piece from Oberon Review as is seems some others in the area have already done some research.
Thanks again
