Thank you Osprey.
I didn't realise that there were so many missing pieces. I see other areas of interest for me on that list e.g. Newport, Pembrokeshire.
 :-\
"IN MEMORIAM. JONES-GRIFFITHS.—In loving memory of Anne Jones-Griffiths, formerly of the Wyndham Hotel, Bridgend, who passed away at Caederwen, Llantwit Road, Treforest, August 30th, 1911"
It appears that Anne remarried in 1897 to a David Griffiths, but I can find very little about him. Anne and David are not together in the 1901 or 1911 census.

yes, there's an amount missing. One of my families of interest would have been on a lost piece as well.

Just checking the newspapers for mentions of the family

Anne's remarriage was 3rd Oct 1895 to Benjamin Griffiths 40, chemist, father David, potato merchant, deceased. Anne lost a few years as she was noted as 44, address Wyndham Arms, father David Davies, merchant, deceased. Marriage by licence.

Bravo Osprey!
The marriage record that I incorrectly found was Ann (not Anne) Jones to David Griffiths in Q June 1897 in Bridgend; vol 11a page 1112.

Now I can fill in the blanks.
Thanks very much for all your research. I was just promoting this web site today, as I always get great assistance.

Here's a bit more on William Jones' death and some of his family background. Confirms the eldest daughter died soon after they moved to Bridgend

Thanks Mabel.
This includes about my g g grandfather John Jones -
"His father kept a shoemaker's shop, and employed a large number of hands. ln fact his shop was the principal seat of industry in the neighbourhood, and his boots were famous throughout the land. "Jackie Baker," as he was familiarly known, were household words for many a decade and the history of Lampeter is inseparately connected with that of his shop."
 ???
I found virtually nothing about Jackie Baker, so it doesn't appear that they were "household words" unless they were spelled quite differently.

The most likely death record I see for our sweet Benjamin Griffiths is Q March 1934 in Bridgend; vol 11a page 1023.
