Hello Jonathan

West Bretton was a Manor, so if Sykes, a Farmer, was a Copyholder, Leased or Rented a farm or Land, Owed Suit to the Court, you might find him amongst the Estate records, like Leases, Rolls, Surveys, Rentals or Accounts. If someone appears in Manor records, records can sometimes show property passing to a relative, such as a Son. It will depend on how complete the Estate records are and how much time you can spend looking.
