Ancestry have a passport application for a Therese Marie Rosene in 1919. She had married Hilmer Lawrence Rosene, a US serviceman, in 1919. She says she was born in London on 16/6/1898 to Alfred Vernal, born Spain, and Ellen Vernal born London and that she lived in Chile between 1900 and 1908. Currently residing in Liverpool and had never been to the US.
Ancestry also have a 1914 will/admin for Pedro Alfred Vinals Vernal of 42 St John’s Road, Woodstock who died at sea. Admin to wife Ellen.

This is really interesting, the will defiantly belongs to my ancestor, as to Therese, this something new to me.  There is a distinct possibility that she may be a family member as well.  Some of the details listed are not quite correct but the time frame and events would work.  Some of the details I have found out have had variations of name listed as the truth was elaborated to suit the circumstances.
Thanks so much, I will have to do some more research on this, unfortunately I have limited access to Ancestry.

Are you aware that Ellen and the children were deported and sent back to the UK in 1914?  They arrived back in Southampton aboard the Olympic on 4th April 1914.

Yes, I am aware of that, her husband died at sea, so when the ship docked in America the crew had saved enough money to send the family back to London. I understand Pedro/Alfred had an operation on the ship and died and was buried at sea.  She eventually ended up in New Zealand with her fathers family.

Births Jun to Dec 1898
Goddard    Therese Adele        Marylebone    1a   527
Stevenson    Therese Ernestine        Wandsworth    1d   696
BOGDAN    Therese Henriette        Pancras    1b   29
LEWRY    Therese Maria W        Wandsworth    1d   628

Well that was fun.  All accounted for

Added

Many more Theresas in that June quarter. I’ve been through the likely ones, nothing.  But she is consistent about date of birth right until her death in 1985.  Looks like the Rosenes divorced sometime between 1930 and 1940

Well in 1911 Alfred and Helen's only living three children are with them, no Therese.

I wonder if she was actually a child of the first marriage. Pedro and Margaret (Hollingworth) had a daughter Theresa Margaret born in Cockpen in 1892 ( they were living in Cockpen in 1891). In 1901 Margaret only has two children with her - Louis  ( Louis Francis born 1895) and Carnegie ( Carnegie Honey born in 1897).
If this is her then she has knocked a few years off her age when she got married.

One of the three children shown as deceased in 1911 was Evelyn Vinals Vernal mmn Cessford born in Holborn in March quarter of 1907 died Lambeth 1910. That narrows down the year they came back from Chile.

Pedro Vinals and Margaret Hollingworth had a daughter named Teresa Margaret, born in 1892, who was also in Chile with Pedro and Helen Cessford
