Brenda's Parents wedding photo
« on: Thursday 07 June 18 12:57 BST (UK) »
Hi
Found this sad photo this week when visiting a 90+ years lady - Brenda says it is her parents wedding. As she was not the eldest daughter I imagine it was taken around 100 years age at the end of WW1.

Can anything be done to save the majority of it for future generations?

Done some of the tidying but it's difficult with so much missing, maybe some of the better restorers will have a look for you, regards, John.

Here's my offering. Hope you like. Sorry not much to recreate the lady on the right so I just guesstimated the proportions.

I just like to do photo restores.

Just for another idea, here's a bit more flowers to cover up the missing area.

I just like to do photo restores.

You can see a very strong family resemblance ,the bride, her bridesmaid and a man who looks like the bride`s father.
It is really  naively charming, especially the water cistern on the wall for the outside loo which presumably is behind the door.
I wonder how much that cost---pre days of hen parties ,receptions for about a thousand guests and
a gift list asking for washing machines, sophisticated coffee machines, microwaves etc etc .

It does look early 1900`s but often people`s clothes are not good pointers to dates as ordinary people made things last a lot longer than we do nowadays. You can easily be up to ten years out.
The bride`s dress looks about 1914 but the lady who would probably be her mother wears a fashion of quite a few years earlier.
It is a lovely thing to treasure.

Hi

Thank you so much DrDude45 and Hoobaloo for the amazing restoration of Brenda's parents photo -she will be so pleased (and amazed).

Thanks also Viktoria for your comments and knowledge of fashions.

I just don't understand why such photos aren't treasured as they tell us so much about our forebears.

Optimism rewarded! much appreciated, Matriach.
