There are discharge documents on Findmypast.  Enlisted Dec 1915.  Served 3 months with MGC in France 1918. Invalided out in Dec 1918 with liver problems.  Has a Silver War Badge.

Many of the records were burnt. In 1940 there was a World War Two bombing raid on the War Office in London where the records were held. During this raid, a large portion (approximately 60 per cent) of the 6.5 million service records was destroyed by fire. The surviving service records have become known as the ‘Burnt Documents’.

The record on FindMyPast is also on Ancestry, it is part only of his pension records.  Look again!
