What has happened to Findmypast?
« on: Thursday 07 June 18 17:20 BST (UK) »
I just logged in and have got some awful 'dashboard' page come up.   I can't get rid of it unless I try to search for something but I want to check if the new records for Fridays are out yet.   I can't see how to get to that page.

It looks fine to me - just as it always was - different picture though.

Here's a link to the Friday page:

Added - also the full listings:  https://search.findmypast.co.uk/historical-records

Hi Gadget

Thanks for the link, very grateful.   Maybe if I log out and in again I will get the right page.

I've had the horrible dashboard too, though coming and going a bit. After seeing it on one computer I reloaded the home/landing page on another and got it there too. But later on it went back to normal.

One slight consolation is that the new page seems to come with a survey, where I've told them in no uncertain terms (on more than one computer) that from my point of view the big 'Create a tree' and 'Getting started' buttons are a total waste of space.

The survey also asks for ideas on how it could be better, so I suggested either going back to how it was, or allowing users to customise the page for themselves.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

Mine is exactly as before - no surveys or anything. Not sure what you've both done.  I'm on a laptop running the current Win10 and Firefox.

I've just tried to access FMPs homepage and got "oops, an error has occurred" but when I refreshed the page it loaded as per usual.  I wonder if they are up to something with their homepage which may be why some are getting one version and others of us getting the old one, albeit with an intermittent error.  I'm using Win10 and IE11.

I got the new Dashboard page this morning and it's still there now.  I always click on Search on the top menu to start with anyway, so will just continue to do the same.

I've just signed in on another machine and everything is still as it was, so not at all sure what the problem is with those who have the dashboard  :-\

I'll try on my Mac later.

Wonder if they're doing a random sample trial/survey and smudwhisk and I are in the 'not selected' pot  ???

I just logged into FindMyPast and got the dashboard page.

They aren't going to be thrilled with what I put in my response.
