Tredwell v Tredwell
« on: Thursday 07 June 18 17:29 BST (UK) »
I understand Jeffrey Tredwell 1802-1881 married an Elizabeth on 31st July 1841 at Chesterton, Oxfordshire but I have been unable to establish what her maiden name was until further recent research came up with the surname of Tredwell.

Could it be possible that a brother and sister married each other?!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the marriage confirm she was single when she married or could she have been a widow.  :-\

Could be any manner of relation, or widow of a relation.  Why would you assume it's his sister?  Could be a coincidence, widow of another male in the family, a first cousin, a second cousin, a distant visiting cousin ....

My assumption was based on the fact that the ages given of both on the 1871 Census tie in with their birth years. Somewhat unusual I know and the first time I have come across this type of event between siblings if it proves to be the case in 12 years of researching and over 12,000 people in my tree!
