John William GIBSON challenges

John William GIBSON was a son of George Edwin GIBSON & Florence Annie MATTHEWS b  30 Dec 1906 Scalford. 

I am hoping to find his marriage and herein lies the challenge.

Firstly there are two John William GIBSON's one born in Scalford and the other whose birth was registered June 1905 Oakham.   

The John William born 30 Dec 1906 Scalford is shown as having married Lucy SNAPE born 1909.  this John William's death is registered in Jan - Mar 1970 Leicester.  I cannot locate a birth for a  Lucy SNAPE born 1909. ???

The challenge is that the only marriage I can locate on FreeBDM is to Lucy SMALLWOOD June 1929 at Ashby de la Zouch.   ???

Both Lucy but different surnames. 

Appreciate some clear heads to help me make sense of this please.

Lucy Smallwood b 16 Nov 1909 Coleorton Leics
Birth reg Asby de la Zouche reg dist

Marriage to John William Gibson reg Jun qtr 1929 Ashby de la zouche reg dist

1939 reg name Snape written above Lucy Gibson

John William Gibson death reg Mar qtr 1970 Leicester

Marriage reg Lucy Gibson to Donald Snape Jun qtr 1971 3a 1999

will see if I can find deaths

Donald was a police officer

your scenario sound perfect.  My issue was looking at the challenge in the wrong way.

John William Gibson 22 bachelor, a market gardener of Birstall, Leicester. Father: George Edwin Gibson - farm Labourer

Lucy Smallwood 19 spinster, in domestic service and of Ravenstone. Father: Thomas Smallwood - miner.

Both signed register
Witnesses: Thomas & Doris May Smallwood

According to several online trees Lucy died in Sydney NSW on 12 July 2000.
