FORREST / NAPIER FAMILY
« on: Friday 08 June 18 13:29 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I'm trying to find information on the living family and I know I can't search for that on here so I wanted to search the ancestors.

Does anyone have any information on Christina Forrest 1881? I know she married a James Herd but I wanted to find out if they had children?

Christina did have a child that I know of, possibly unknown father. The child's name was Jean Forrest 1899 and she married Alexander Napier. I wanted to find out if they had any children aswell? I know of one of them but I'm not sure if she's passed away or not so I'll leave the name for now.

I'm desperate to find any information I can! I know they lived in Scotland, Glasgow I think? And fife? So I wasn't sure which topic to put this in!

Thank you :)

Have you tried looking on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

There is a marriage for a Christina Forrest 1905 Fowlis Wester Perth to a James Herd
A death for a Christina Forrest other surname Herd also on S P 1954 Culross Fife aged 72 you can view these certificates for a small fee of £7.50 which will give you 30 credits ...The death might give you a family member who registered the death ..This Christina would have been born about 1882 so would not have had a child in 1889 being only 7 years of age

Possible marriage to an Alexander Napier in 1925.

This could be a possible census record in 1901 in Fowlis Wester Perthshire ( Auchloy Farm )
Alexander Forrest age 60 born Wiston Lanarkshire farmer
Agnes Forrest age 56 born Cornwarth Lanarkshire
Christina Forrest age 19 born Cornwarth Lanarkshire daughter
Alexander Forrest age 17 born Walston Lanarkshire son
George Forrest age 12 born Douglas Lanarkshire son
Alexander Forrest age 14 born Douglas Lanarkshire ( grandson )
Jeannie Forrest age 1 born Fowlis Wester ( granddaughter probably the daughter of Christina )
David Nicol age 5 born Crief Perthshire (grandson )
Jeannie Mighton ( probably transcribed wrong ) servant dairymaid
William Nicol age 40 servant cattleman
William Kiddy age 19 ploughman

Getting a copy of the marriage will confirm parents names

Hi! Yes I have tried that website and in some ways it's a life saver and then sometimes it doesn't give me much information at all lol! I can't believe you found the death certificate!?! Thank you so much! Also, my mistake there, Jean was born in 1899!! Not 1889.. oops!
I hope that makes it more straight forward now. Thank you.
