Hello Mo, welcome to Rootschat

Could you give us a year when you think he was born please?  I'm guessing probably early 1800 but would like to have a definite date.

Do you know whom John married?

Hi Girl Guide, He was born in Woodhorn, 1778. He married Mary Reed at Earsdon, 1st Oct. 1803. I think his father was also John.

Nothing seems to be coming up online.  You may have to make a visit to Northumberland Archives. Below is a link to their website:-

http://www.experiencewoodhorn.com/collections/

There is a contact and opening hours section on there.  Perhaps you could contact them and ask what records they have for Woodhorn.  You can then decide whether you wish to make a visit.

Much as we might like it to be, not absolutely everything to do with family history is going to be available online.  Visits would still need to be made to county and national archives.

A baptism in Woodhorn:  21 Dec 1783 John Addison s/o John and Mary Addison, Cresswell

This is from a transcript I have.  He could have been any age at baptism.

I agree that the archives is a good source but in case you are too far away, if there is an LDS family history centre nearer to you then you can visit and use their computers to see the images of the registers. They will also let you print the image or , depending on the rules for that centre, download it to a usb stick.
