Barraclough Childrens costumes about 1910
« on: Friday 08 June 18 21:56 BST (UK) »
The attached photo has been handed to me with suggestion it is of three of my relations born 1902, 1904 and 1906. I'm not great on the age of children but I'm guessing that would mean the photo was taken about 1910?

Others have suggested the costumes are not correct for that period and the photo must be of three other sisters taken in a different time period.

If the first proposal is correct, father had been a tailor prior to marriage in 1902 but on baptisms of his 3 daughters is shown as 'Car Conductor'. They were living near Leeds, Yorkshire.

Any help with dating this photo would be much appreciated.
Thanks, John B

A bit of cleanup may help, I don't know, but here it is. Hope you like it and that it helps.
I just like to do photo restores.

I googled “formal girls clothing 1910”. And got various things including this women’s own journal 1910

Thanks for the cleanup DrDude45.

Thanks Mckha489.
I'm no expert on childrens clothing, obviously  :D, but some of those dresses in your link look very similar to my photo so I'm going to accept that they are quite appropriate for the period.

Many Thanks

That’s what I thought, especially the dark dress in your photo compared with the right hand girl of the pair in the centre of the pattern sheet.
