NEED DATE ON TOMBSTONEMARK BRIERLEY
« on: Sunday 10 June 18 00:21 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am having trouble reading/finding the death date on the tombstone attached.  I can make our Mark Brierley and died but have no death date. I would appreciate any help in find the death date on tombstone.  This Mark Brierley was found in the NY 1860 and 1865 census.

Thank you.
Nancy

I have blown it up 500% but cannot see any dates at all.

Do you have his parent's names & that of his wife.
It might help in a search :-)

The only lettering is the surname - the date may be on the base most of which is out of shot.  Why not check on "Billion Graves" to see if the grave is on their site?, regards, John.

Can anyone date the car in the background? I know that won't help much, but it gives an approximate cut off point.

??? ??? ???
Won't that only tell you when the photo was taken?
Which I suppose indicates it must be a date before that, but that opens up almost endless possibilities ???

Found some info:

Based on the following items, its possible the tombstone may have been replaced and updated with one including his wife.

1.> Resident Fishkill, Dutchess, New York in the 1860 census.
2.> Early 1910s -1920s Automobile, so prior to death of wife listed on new tombstone.
3.> Similar Details in the location in the picture and the location now.

Based on these factors, I'd say this tombstone has been replaced with this one:

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/129540883/mark-brierley

Not 100% sure, but there are a LOT of similarities in the photos.

I just like to do photo restores.
