Thanks everyone want of strength seems to be the winner it's sad but I find it so interesting the causes of death from these times. If this has been today most likely Matilda would have survived.

Just to point out that scotlandspeople will re-scan if the image is very poor, and they will also offer their opinions (or they have for me, unofficially) as to what is difficult to read.

That's really good to know I might try that they must have seen so many of these they will probably have a good idea of what it might say/mean
