I'm looking for info on my 2nd. G Grandmother Margaret Harvey Flett, born 1845 in Stromness Orkney, father John Flett and mother Margaret Goudie, she married Joseph Deering.
she died in London 1920, she also had 3 sons and 2 daughters.
information on any of the above would be wonderful.
kind regards,
Lynda.

She’s still in Stromness in 1861, in service with a Harvey family.

By 1871 she is in London (Walburg St, St George in the East) with husband Joseph Deering, 24, a London-born wine porter, and children Joseph G, 3, and Margaret, 11mo.

In 1881 the Deering family is one of six (!) families living at 9 Baker’s Row, Whitechapel.  Joseph is now a cellarman.  Children are Joseph 13, Jane 7, Walter J 4.

In 1891 they are at 10 Queen St, Mile End New Town - Joseph still a cellarman.  The only child still at home is Walter J, 14, a printer’s boy.
