Thanks, I have a copy of the will (see thread on handwriting board) and other details  :)

I just wanted to know where Le Wyneard is as it was given in his C of E record as the place he was ordained by Bishop of Gloucester.

Lewis Taylor, rector at Moreton Corbet from 1582-1623, is also my 11x great grandfather! I am very excited to have come across your message and would appreciate any information you may have on either Lewis or the rest of his family. His daughter Margaret Taylor (c1590-1659) and her husband Richard Cureton (c1580-1628) are my 10x great grandparents. I know very little about Lewis or his wife Margery (nee Downes).

Hi

I could let you have a copy of his will, if you don't have it.

You'll need to send me a Personal Message with your e-mail (not on here). Make 23 more posts - just post  something on here twice - anything will do. You can then click on the green scroll icon under my avatar and send me a personal message.

I'll see what else I have. I'm descended from their daughter Margaret.

I've only got a few bits on this machine. I have Margery Downes as daughter of a Richard Downes.

Margaret Cureton married a John Sandland.

Have you done a DNA test?

Thanks for your speedy reply. Lewis' daughter Margaret is also your descendent? I have her marry Richard Cureton on 16 Jan 1608 in Moreton Corbet.  Their daughter Margaret Cureton married John Sandland on 29 Jun 1627 and she is my 9x great grandmother.

Have you heard of Orseddwen?

It's right on the Welsh/England border. My Sandlands ended up there and married into the Jones family of Tyn y drain.
