Jade -- may I say that you seem to be doing 3 lines all at the same time, judging by the recent messages on this Board.

That is very difficult to do -- and will be confusing for you. It is far easier if you are starting out on the fascinating family history 'journey' - to try and concentrate on one line at a time. Obtain your evidence from searching either the free sites such as Family Search, or a subscription site - or order certificates.

If you just collect information from what others find for you - it's not as much fun!
You can always come on this site if you get stuck or have any sort of query. People are always happy to help and enjoy doing so.

Just have a go and see what you find first.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Welcome to rootschat

You say you are giving a brief outline.  It is always best to ask specific questions as we would rather not spend time looking for things you already know.

Familysearch is very useful - here is the 1911 for Edward Raymond which shows his mother is Mary Ann

Which leads to this marriage from freebmd  https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

As 'good practice' it is useful to note all the sources you have for the information you find.  (Indexes of original records are best, online trees are not always reliable!)  For example:
marriage Mar qtr 1867 Sculcoates vol 9d p241 HUNTER John & BROCKLEBANK Sarah
birth Sep qtr 1872 Sculcoates vol 9d p121 HUNTER George Henry mmn BROCKLEBANK
marriage Dec qtr 1898 Wakefield vol 9c p164 HUNTER George Henry & COE Mary Ann
birth Jun qtr 1902 Wakefield vol vol 9c p51 HUNTER Edward Raymond mmn COE

For a sense of who was in a family the censuses are a good starting point (FamilySearch has indexes and some images)
For BMDs after 1837 start with FreeBMD
For births and deaths from 1837 into the early 1900s find them on FreeBMD then use the General Register Office (GRO) indexes to get mother's maiden names and ages at death
For baptisms, marriages and burials before 1837 use FreeREG, Online Parish Clerks (OPCs) and familysearch
Financial rule - check out free sites before subscribing to paysites.
And the golden rule - never trust an online teree unless it quotes proveable sources.
And the most important rule - enjoy the journey!

All the best
Philip

If you are looking for people who may have further information on him, have you looked in 'Surname Interests' under 'Your Tools' below, and then made contact with them.

In addition, do any of your ancestors feature in any on-line trees, which may give you some pointers as to where to look.

Welcome to RootsChat

this may give you some information which could help get on track

It seems the Hunter family were noncomformist (Methodist) which should help when looking for BMD records
this looks like Edward Raymond's baptism record

taken from image of non comformist records
Free Methodist Chapel Saville St Wakefield Yorks
no 151
Baptism 27 April 1902
Born 29 Mar 1902
Edward Raymond Hunter son of George henry and Mary Ann
address York Terrace York St Wakefield
minister C.T.
Wakefield

1901 census (we are not allowed to post details of 1911)
York Terrace York Street Wakefield
George Henry Hunter Head M 28 Stone Mason b Hull Yks
Mary Ann Hunter wife M 25 b Featherstone Yorks
John Charles Hunter son 1 Wakefield
Joseph Redvers Hunter 6mths Wakefield
RG13 Piece 4284 Folio 52 Page 1

other children found so fr Edward Raymond Hunter b 1902 Wakefield
George Gilbert b.c.1909/10 Hull Yorkshire

so the family moved to Hull sometime between Edward raymond and George Gilbert's births

this is probably the marriage registration of Edward Raymond's parents
FreeBMD
Dec qtr 1898 Wakefield reg district 9c 164
on same page
George Henry Hunter
Mary Ann Coe

Hope this helps
