Dating of photo if possible could be my gt.grandfather Thomas Spurr
« on: Wednesday 13 June 18 05:08 BST (UK) »
This is a photocopy of an original photograph sent to me by a relative overseas who is now deceased.
I believe it could be my gt.grandfather Thomas Spurr 1818-1884 who lived in the West Riding Yorkshire.   Any help regarding time period would be appreciated.

I would suggest mid-late 1870's.
He looks in his 40's.

Many thanks for your input, it is possible then that it is my gt.grandfather.   It looks as though this was cut out of a larger photo as there appears to be persons standing each side of him(hands on his shoulders).  Would have loved to see the original full photograph and possibly other famil;y members.

He would be around 60 in 1878. It depends on whether he looks that old to you.
The other 2 look like women so possibly a wife & daughter.
The one on the left looks quite short so probably a child rather than a woman.

Don't know if this helps, but thought you might like it.
I just like to do photo restores.

Jim1:  Maybe he doesn't look to be in his 60's his hair seems to be quite dark, or is that just the photo.  His two youngest daughters were born in 1861 and 1863, so possibly mid to late 1860's or early 1870's.
