Elizabeth grimes parents
« on: Wednesday 13 June 18 14:41 BST (UK) »
Hi i have been searching without luck for the parents of Elizabeth grimes born in 1676 and married Richard Slater in 1705.
I believe she was born in Tetsworth Oxfordshire England.

Hello Paula and welcome to RootsChat :)

Oxfordshire parish records are available to view on Ancestry.  The Tetsworth records include this entry:

'Richard Slatter and Elizabeth Grimes were married May 11 1704'

Details of their fathers were not usually entered prior to 1837, and mothers were rarely mentioned until very recently.  Baptism records are your best bet - I'll have a quick look.

Sorry Paula, I can't see anything for Elizabeth Grimes (or variant spellings) in the right time frame apart from the marriage.  I wonder if she came from over the border in Buckinghamshire?
