Russell Totty
« on: Wednesday 13 June 18 15:00 BST (UK) »
Russell Totty aged 20 left Liverpool for Quebec on 12 Sept 1907.

Back in England by 1911.

Any records of him in Canada - marriage - 1907-1911?

Many thanks.

Hi,

On the  Alberta, Canada, Homestead Records, 1870-1930 it shows that Russell was single and that he returned to the UK because of ill health.

Is that his arrival on board the Virginian 20 Sep 1907 as Russell JOTTY?

And then an arrival in the UK:
Port of Departure:   Rangoon, Burma
Arrival date:   1 Nov 1910
Port of Arrival:   Liverpool, England

Thanks Maureen

I have Russell Totty leaving Liverpool UK on Sept 12 1907.  Would that tie in with an arrival in Canada on Sept 20 1907.

re his return to UK - would the ship have departed Rangoon and then called in Canada en-route to the UK?

I have no idea what the second question means. Sorry

Looking at the image for this voyage it clearly states departed Montreal , not Rangoon. There appears to have been a mistake in the transcription. Scrolling back through the images , the previous voyage detailed in the set is the Arracan , which sailed from Rangoon to Liverpool arriving 1 Nov 1910.

Occupation given on manifest is farmer.
