Dating Spurr photo and possible age of subject

Would like some info on this photograph wbich is definately one of my Spurr ancestors but which one.  Is it early 1900's before WW1 and any idea what the numbers in the background mean?

Boys dressed like this over quite a long period starting from the 1890's.
I suspect this is later & probably Edwardian.
I also suspect this is an individual school photo hence the number.

I think he looks about 11/12 years old.
