Broomielaw
« on: Thursday 14 June 18 18:44 BST (UK) »
When my great-grandfather died in 1890, his death was registered by "a cousin", Annie Mckenzie, whose address was either 220 Broomielaw, or 22c Broomielaw (the certificate is very hard to read).

I would like to be able to further research this cousin, and thought I would look for her on the 1891 census, but I don't know which district Broomielaw comes under.

Can anyone help?

It would be under Blythswood 644/7. Probably is 220 as the numbers start at 32, this would be enumeration district 19. You can download street indexes from NRS from ScotlandsPeople via the "Help and guidance" at the top then the first option "Guidance about records and research" then "CensusRecords". It is worth having a look at the other research guides on the National records site.

The following is a link for National Library of Scotland maps for Broomielaw http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=19&lat=55.8570&lon=-4.2669&layers=170&b=1. Enumeration district is 23, thought the number was 200.
