clean up/restore request please of james McGregor

this is a photo of james McGregor - Samuel of buckie he was a sibling to my Samuel side who lived in buckie Scotland he was seriously injured in ww2, apparently his face was disfigured around the jaw and mouth ,


this is the only photo I have of him , wondered if anyone can help improve the condition of this photo

appreciate any help given

Thanks for both options , I was trying to decide what it was or if it was in the background , makes sense now it’s a cigarette ,
