Details from a marriage
« on: Saturday 16 June 18 10:50 BST (UK) »
Hello,

The marriage is between James Westcott and Thomasine Baylis, at St. Thomas the Apostle, Exeter, on the 8th of September 1811. I've read the Devon Bishop's Transcripts but this merely names them. Can anyone check the church record? I believe that Thomasine married before, as Pitts, in 1806 in Exeter to Thomas Baylis. If there's any parish details or notes these would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi Adam
Not sure if you already have this but 1811
James Westcott of the parish of Upton Pyne and Thomason Baylis of the parish of St Thomas the Apostle were married by licence
wit Robert Tortell regular witness and James Raddenley
The bride and groom made an x
No indication bach and spinster or widowed.

The 1806 marriage both are of this parish, again no indication of marriage status  by banns
He signed she made x
wit Henry Driffied and George Bennett (who was regular witness).

Does that help

Is there a burial for Thomas Baylis? Thomasine Westcott died in 1840 and her age is given as 60 so this matches with the 1780 christening for Thomasine Pitts in Upton Pyne.

Sorry
I'm afraid no sign of a burial, but no sign of children for them either.
