Can I ask for some help please?
I am looking for William Swan or Swann born sometime in the 1700s. His son Robert Swann was christened in Hadstock (on the boundary with Cambridgeshire). Robert's parents are listed as William and Sarah. Any ideas? Thank you

Hadstock is in ESSEX. The seax website should be useful for that.

Have you searched for siblings of this Robert? At the moment you've not given any idea of when in the 100-year period the baptism took place and when his parents were producing kids

What leads you to search for parents from Cambs?
All census look up transcriptions are Crown Copyright http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

Thank you, I'll look up the SEAX website.

I think I wrote Cambridgeshire because later Robert and his children live in Woodditton, Cambridgeshire.

So far I haven't found any siblings of Robert. In some early notes I wrote that William Swann was born in Orwell in 1740, although silly me I didn't reference it!

Maybe I need to find out more about the parish records...

Possible siblings for Robert (all baptised  in Hadstock parents William and Sarah Swann):

William Swann 19th Nov 1769
John Swann 11th June 1773
James Swann 1st Oct 1775
Thomas Swann 15th June 1777
Rebecca Swann 18th Jan 1778

Possible marriage for parents?

William Swan
Sarah Chapman
29th Oct 1769
Wimbish Essex

(Wimbish is approximately 8 miles form Hadstock)
