West Avenue is just off the High Street, more or less opposite the shopping centre. Trinity Church  Hall is on the High Street end.  An extremely tree lined street these days.

Just remembered that Gosforth was in Castle ward until 1974, when it became part of N upon T. I would think that Northumberland CC might possibly have the records that you want.

Wow! Thank you all who have sleuthed this down in hours and even taken photos in situ! The only clue I had was an old exam certificate presented by this school to my late mother. She must have left school just as WW2 started.

I know you've marked this as complete but I've just heard from a friend to say that it was Newcastle Central High's junior school before it merged with Church High, This would have been after your mother left. Church High is one of our 'better' schools.
