Andrew Paxton & Agnes Warden

Hi everyone!

So im looking into my 5th great grandparents Andrew Paxton & Agnes Warden to which I know nothing about!

All I know is the following...

Andrew & Agnes had 2 children, John Paxton b.1785 (my 4xgg) & Peter Paxton b.1790.


I can't find any marriage records for Andrew & Agnes or in fact any document regarding them??


Could anyone help shed some light? or point me in the right direction?

Did not find a marriage. Both children born in Prestonpans. Several "Andrew Paxton"(s) born in Prestonpans in the 1750's and 60's.

Ive spent a long morning on SP but found nothing.. looks like it either wasn't recorded or they weren't married. Now going to try and find a death and see if they has any clues to parentage.

Agnes died 26/01/1827 (Aged 65) at Tranent.

3 Andrew deaths in Prestonpans,  2/10/1804, (No age) 6/02/1817 (No age) and (7/01/1841 (aged 78))

There is also another Andrew/Ahnes Baptisng same timeframe, he is a Gardener, she is nee CURRIE

They married 20 June 1786 Prestonpans, Fathers Andrew Paxton and William Currie

He was Bapt there 05 Apr 1761, Parents ANDREW/ELIZABETH nee Currie

So I think this may be your Andrew;
Baptised 07 Aug 1757 Prestonpans, birth 5 Aug, Parents JOHN/CHRISTIAN Paxton nee Gray, Father a Farmer

Would explain the John Pacton/Paxton who witnessed John/Peters Baptisms.
Also matches age on 1841 Burial.

Cant find Andrew/Agnes Marriage but as he was a Sailor they may have married anywhere and had other children elsewhere besides John/Peter.
