I guess I am just being impatient and starting to worry a bit that there is something wrong with my account.  It seems strange to me that I was getting one 4th cousin or closer matches every day or two at first and pages and pages of distant matches, then I had zero for 2 weeks followed by 5 4th cousins in one day, now zero for three weeks.

Oh well, hopefully one day I'll get a match that actually has a tree or will reply to my message!

Like Hmootm, I'm only seeing a trickle now - maybe two or three a day, and some days none at all. I've got 179 4th cousins, and no identifiable ones at all on one large branch of my tree.

And not one person has answered my messages.  :'( :'( :'(

The rate of return of new matches is a function of any promotional campaign either here in UK or in the US or elsewhere.

I like trickles; they give me time to analyse them before the next batch.
Thomas, Davies, Jones, Walters, Daniel in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. That should narrow it down a bit!
Vincent: Fressingfield, Suffolk, Stockton & Sunderland.
Murtha/Murtaugh: Dundalk & Sunderland
Ingram: Cairnie by Huntly, Scotland then Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
Bardouleau: London - in memory of my stepmother Annie Rose née Bardouleau who put up with a lot from me.

Just had a really great new close match arrive. He's a descendant of my great grandmother's brother. I knew of his grandfather but not the descendants. This in addition to working out the mysterious grt grandfather's line with new relatives in the US.

I think I'm getting to see the usefulness of this DNA lark  :D

That's great news!  You are very lucky 😀 I'm lucky to get 1 4th cousin a week, always on my mums side, never with a tree 😕 Hopefully one day I'll get some paternal matches, I live in hope!
