Looking at the information from the 1939 Register, Ethel J E Stewart was born 22 /11/1892.

I  do not think that the the death you have, in 1964, his her's.

there is a death registered 4th qtr / 1976 /Eastbourne /vol 16 page 0557

The 1976 death is for Ethel Joseline E Stewart b 22.11.1892 which is the date of birth given for Ethel on the 1939 register

In 1939 she is just shown as Ethel whereas Charles gives his middle initials.  The additional initials J E appear to have been put in by whoever has added the death date

The 1964 death also just shows her as Ethel but with a birth year of 1898.  However - I can't find a 1939 match for Ethel Joseline

I have no idea . That is the wall.  I can't find a marriage. It may have been in Singapore or Penang so  I don't know how to get that info,

I can’t find a birth for an Ethel Joseline around 1892.  What seems odd to me is that the 1964 death reg is just Ethel.

The additions to the 1939 extra shows the death as 31.12.1864 but then adds the 2 initials J E which don’t appear on the GRO entry.

She may have been born abroad.  Do any of the passenger list entries confirm her birth year?

I have very little documentation for Ethel. However what I do have is the age she gave when travelling to and from the far East by ship.

So unless she lied about her age ??
