Finding Records Murphy/Kelly - Dungiven
« on: Monday 18 June 18 19:01 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am researching for a friend and am looking into his maternal lineage. His grandparents (both deceased) were William Murphy & Sarah Kelly. Both are believed to be from the Dungiven area of Derry. Sarah Murphy died in February of 2002 at the age of 82, and was buried in the Dungiven Roman Catholic Churchyard.

Is there any way to find a marriage record for William & Sarah or possibly go further back? William Murphy died in his 50's in Dungiven, but I haven't been able to find a death record for him.

Thanks in advance!!

Keelan

If Sarah Kelly was born c1920 and her husband William Murphy was a similar age then their births may not be online. Both GRONI & Irish Ancestry only show births over 100 years old.

When would they have married and when would William have died?
Irish Genealogy records for Northern Ireland counties only go up to 1921-

GRONI has deaths over 50 years old & marriages over 75 years old in their online database-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
