Hi Daithi,
From what i know that is the census in 1911 on Arran Quay of my grandfather and that is most definitely his marriage cert to my grandmother Margaret.
Now Richard Flood working in Guinness and dying in 1949 i don't know. My father never knew or met his grandparents in Dublin but the address seems correct as does his age. I see it says Richard was a widower so Mary Anne had died by 1949.
I'm so confused by the whole thing now.

The genealogist made an error, it should have been noticed that on Richard Flood's marriage to Mary Anne Walsh he says his father Richard was a Herd. On seeing this the church record of Richard and Mary Anne's marriage should have been checked to see who their mother's were, we can't do that for you however we did check the Census etc. and it is very clear that your Richard Flood is from Co. Meath.

Also it is very clear the other Richard Flood (the one you were told was yours) is living with his Keogh aunts and goes on to marry Ellen.
The family in Kildare, the Red Cow and Clondalkin are not your relations.

These people are your relations
Richard b 1878 was my great grandfather and married Mary Anne Walsh.

Is this Richard and Mary Anne's marriage 1903
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1903/10224/5721669.pdf

It says father Richard, Herd.
This is the most if found out about my family. My grandfather Patrick Flood was born in Smithfield in 1907 and moved to Tipperary where he married my grandmother.

Richard claims to be an Engineer on marriage

Richard Flood and Mary Ann Walshe had a son Richard in 1908

and so on.

I'm sorry but we had to tell you what we found, I know you have spent a lot of time researching the other Flood family, and they sure are an interesting bunch but sadly not your Floods which must be upsetting for you after all that hard work.
At least your great grand dad didn't ruin his wife's family he was just a hard working man up in Co.Meath.

So you won't be organizing a family reunion for the Floods of BallymoreEustace??
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.
