Nice one dathai, I was looking at that Richard (father) last night but couldn't find a birth for Richard.

The other Richard doesn't have who he married on his baptism, I wonder if this one does.

I can find Patrick but I can't find Richard

There seems to be a few errors on the Walsh marriage 1873
Civil cert says Patricks father Thomas church says Jacobus and Anne
Civil cert says witness James Blake church says Joanha Blake

Hi Daithi and Sinann,
That is some investigation. I was taken aback by the newspaper clippings. I spent my evening reading them. You are correct in Richard marrying Mary Anne Walsh and having Richard and Patrick as children that survived. Patrick was my grandfather and was born in Smithfield in Dublin. He died in Portroe in Tipperary. His brother Richard (Dick) fought in WW2 and died in Leopardstown hospital.
Wow Jane Keogh is not happy at all and it seems Richard was up to no good.

It seems the Flood family in general must have had money issues in the late 1880's and lost a lot of land and houses. I read
An examination of the Calendars of Wills & Administrations located a calendar entry for Michael Flood in 1860, which read as follows:

FLOOD, MICHAEL.  Effects: under £9,000.  30 August.  Letters of administration of the personal estate of Michael Flood late of the Fox & Geese in the Co. Dublin, farmer and lime manufacturer, a widower, deceased, who died 26 July 1860 at the same place, were granted at the Principal Registry to John Flood of Jamestown, near Kilmainham, in said county, the son, one of the next of kin of the deceased.

FLOOD, MICHAEL.  26 January 1888.  Letters of administration of the personal estate of Michael Flood late of Fox & Geese, Clondalkin, Co. Dublin, farmer, who died 26 July 1860 at the same place (left unadministered by John Flood, a son) were granted at the Principal Registry to Michael Flood of Drimna Lodge, Clondalkin, another son (Former Grant 30 August 1860).  Effects unadministered : £960.

The value of the estate of Michael Flood had diminished considerably from £9000 to £960 between 1860 and 1888.

When searching the records i did see De Burghs lived in the only house in Lugadowden and no sign of the Flood family.
regards
Paul

You haven't finished reading all the posts yet have you?
We don't believe your Richard is part of the Kildare family.
