Thanks Dathai,
I have been to Garristown cemetery twice as it is not too far from my house and couldn't find James Walsh or any of the Walsh's graves. It made me wonder were they buried in Rolestown cemetry, where James parents were married.
I will take a trip over in the next few weeks to check again.

If you note from 1911 census James's house is owned by his next door neighbour Michael Cahill who has a nephew called John Murray ,James Walsh seems to have a plot of land at number 12

The Garristown register shows the burial was looked after by John Murray and that the grave was unpurchased.
now i know from Glasnevin that unpurchased graves are later sold on if not purchased within a certain time period so most likely no headstone for James Walsh
