Also why would you go from Barbados to Canada to India and Mauritius in a very short time was it usual to have your wife and family moving with you?

So many questions hopefully someone will be able to help me with information.
Thank you in advance.

For starters :
Taking his first years of service which were 1883-1907.  He was in the West Indies 1885-1890 where he married Florence.  She then accompanied him when he went to Halifax 1890-92 and afterwards. He married Florence “without leave” in 1887 which meant simply that the army didn’t recognise her officially but she was later “brought on to establishment” in 1889 in Barbados which meant she was now able to travel and live with her husband (and the rest and the children follow from there!).  He was a sergeant by 1889 which meant it would have been easier to get his wife on the establishment than if he'd been a lower rank.  The moves from one station to another weren't really "a very short time" as you put it.

I'll get to the rest later.  May I ask if you are looking at the records or simply at the transcribed summary?
Could you say where you saw the Curt (NEO)  - that looks at first sight like a mis transcription of some thing and I'd like to see the original.
Found it.  It is very badly written R G (for Royal Garrison) Arty (artillery) NCO non commissioned officer.

More on his WW1 record soon.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

His second period of service was all in UK, from 14 Sep 14 to 14 Mar 17 in uniform and then he was placed in the Class W reserve which was for men considered more valuable in civilian life than in the army, he did not wear uniform and was not paid by the army.  He could be recalled at any time.  He was discharged from that commitment in Dec 18.

The Curt NEO is a typically poor Ancestry transcription of an admittedly badly written term.

Both sets of records have more detail of course if you want it.
