Please help with list of properties

I have a copy of a Schedule of Properties of a village.  Iím trying to determine which is the oldest building; can someone please explain the terms Date of Lease and Commencement of term. 
anything and everything to do with the village of Brithdir, near New Tredegar in Gwent.

The "term" of a lease is the period of time during which the lessee has possession of the property.

So if I lease a property for a "term" of 99 years starting from 1 July and sign the paperwork today then the "date of lease" is 19 June and the "commencement of term" is 1 July.
