Household details
« on: Tuesday 19 June 18 14:58 BST (UK) »
Hi

I need to establish who was resident at an address in 1950, and wondered if it is possible to do this?

The address I am interested in is 14 Westminster Street, Wallasey.

Many thanks

Jay

Jay -- I think you will need the Electoral Rolls. Often kept in the local library. However they will only show the people entitled to vote who were living at that address.

The older Cheshire electoral rolls are on both Family Search and Find My Past but I think they only go up to 1900.

The nearest year for on-line access to occupants of an address is the 1939 Register on Find My Past - BUT anyone born after 1916 will be 'hidden' from view. In addition if there was anyone serving in the military at that time - they won't be shown at the address.

Maybe someone else can come up with a better idea.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Birkenhead Reference Library has electoral registers from 1862 to date.
