Great grandmother buried in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Baltimore, USA
« on: Wednesday 20 June 18 14:07 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information that I can find on my Great grandmother Hattie Carr. She was born October 1863 and died September 1, 1920. My great grandmother was buried in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland. I would like to know where she was born (City, State) her parents names, if she had any siblings and where was their last locations and if there could be any relatives still living.

Mt. Auburn Cemetery appears to be an African American Cemetery, so can I assume she was black?

Cemetery records have birth year as 1884 with same DOD as mentioned.

Is this her?

Do you have names of any of her children or her husband?  That might help to lead to a maiden name or places where she lived.

Carr is my great grandmothers maiden yes she was African American. I do believe that this is the same person. She did marry a Joseph J. Moody. I have no idea why she was buried under her maiden if this is really her. She had three children: Veronica Moody (my Aunt), Joseph J. Moody, Jr. (my Uncle), and William T. Moody (my grandfather).

So this is Joseph, Hattie and family in 1910?  Hattie was born in Maryland and says her parents were as well.

Joseph and Hattie did not marry until 1906 so you need to find out if the children are just his or just hers or their children together.

You really need to see the documention for that marriage to get more information about Hattie.
