What country are you living in??
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

The marriage certificate for Anthony and Mary in 1919 doesn't record any occupation for Anthony or his father John Carroll but there is this family living in Kilbeggan in the 1901 census (all Roman Catholic all born Westmeath):

Abode: Main Street Kilbeggan Westmeath
John Carroll aged 42 occ: Shoemaker<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Mary Carroll aged 40
Kate Carroll aged 11
Antony Carroll aged 5<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Angela Carroll aged 3
Joseph Carroll aged 1

In case this is your Anthony Carroll:

Possible marriage for this couple:
2nd July 1876
Kilbeggan
Mary Brewer aged 19 Spinster occ: Servant
John Carroll aged 20 Bachelor occ: Bootmaker
fathers: William Carroll deceased Bootmaker and Thomas Brewer deceased Labourer

Children of this couple all born Kilbeggan father either recorded as Shoemaker or Bootmaker:

15/5/1877 William Joseph
15/2/1879 Thomas
28/12/1882 John
15/12/1884 Mary
27/11/1886 Bridget
19/11/1889 Kate
3/4/1891 Anne
10/9/1892 James
15/4/1894 Patrick
29/1/1896 Anthony
11/11/1897 Angela
30/3/1900 Joseph
8/4/1902 James
