Think I have it now sorry for all the questions!

1851
Henry 46
Sarah 37
William 14

1861
Henry 60
Sarah 44
William 25

So where is little Elizabeth in 1851?

We're not sure. But she married William Harding in Shurdington, Gloucestershire in 1857. She gives her father as Henry Stockton. She then disappears and re-emerges in Essex as the wife of William Goddard, who she formally married in 1882.

The Elizabeth that married early 1857 gives her age as 20 so born c1837.  Fathers occupation looks like gardener.

Will have a look for her it's intriguing  8)

There was a previous thread on it. She was quite a mystery. But the Rootschatters decided that 1840 Elizabeth was her, as she gave her father as Henry Stockton, contractor, and on one census gave her birthplace as Woodscase, Staffordshire, and the family lived in Woodseaves, Staffordshire.

I wonder why she made her mark on that marriage but signed her name when she married the first time!

Goodness knows. Nothing about her surprises me. I don't even know when she died. She disappeared after 1891, but there is a 1901 record in Stratford for an Elizabeth Harding born in Not Known, Staffordshire.

Did she have a daughter Florence in 1884 Fulham - Florence Goddard mothers name Stockton.

And Henry Harding late 1857 mothers name Stockton.  I wonder what happened to husband no 1.

Yes, she did have Florence. I've no idea about her life as a Harding sadly.

Here's the previous thread that focused on Elizabeth, but not on her mother.
