Hmm,

Think we need to find out from OP how they arrived at the info. posted to figure what's what?

Too many things don't match i.e. a re-think of how the info. was established?

Some more that don't quite match-

Robert Boyle, son of Robert (labourer), born 28 Jan.1906

Robert Henry Boyle, born 28 Jan.1904, son of Michael (labourer)

Second birth already posted at reply # 1. While the father's details don't match at all, the child's full name and baptism date have resonance.  The birth date was 20 January.

I’m not sure I’m understanding this query correctly?

Is this who you think are the same person as it seems unlikely although they may well be related given their names?

1927 Robert Henry Boyle aged 23 (born c1904) married & father given as Hugh Boyle

1936 Robert Henry Boyle aged 27 (born c1909) married & father given as Robert Henry Boyle

Have you found the death of 1st wife Wilhelmina?

Annie

They are the same person -- I think his first wife died 1931 --

Wilhelmina Boyle 22nd June 1931 aged 23 Belfast

In the 2nd marriage he is recorded as a widower --

Both the first marriage and the army records state that his father was Hugh.

The second marriage his father was recorded as Robert Henry, which could be a mistake by the minister hence the confusion --

"Both the first marriage and the army records state that his father was Hugh.

Or, is it possible the mother was either married/in a relationship with 2 different men (whether related or not) named Boyle as an error with the names Hugh & Robert Henry seems questionable?

(I have someone in my tree marrying 2 sisters)!
