Hi,
In the Tithe records.....1823 to 1837 there is Crosson.
Surname    Forename    Townland/Street                Parish    County    Year
Crosson      James         Miltron Carrigallen Glebe    Clooney  Clare       1827
No Crossan or Crossin listed in County Clare.

Corssan in County Donegal.

Crossin in counties Donegal, Monaghan, Kings (Offaly) Down, Cavan and Meath.
Did John stay in Ireland?
Did he move away?

Thank you Maggsie for your reply, John Crossan/Crossin was transported for larceny in 1841 when he was 71 years of age, his son William Patrick (Patrick) also accompanied him on the boat, they spent some time in Van Dieman's Land then sailed to Victoria, nothing found for John after that.

William Patrick came back to Van Diemans Land, married and died in Hobart, in 1931.

Kind Regards

Cienna

Thank you rathmore, I will check convict records, we were unaware he was a convict, all family members are spelling the name as CROSSIN.

Do you any names for his other children/, I am not having much luck finding things relating to him.

Regards

Cienna
