Yes there is internet access at Scotlandspeople.

Fort William is a beautiful location. We had a holiday there in April. Our cottage was in Banavie and every morning when we opened the curtains Ben Nevis was right in front of us - wonderful. Visited the Highland Museum too an amazing amount of information for a small building.

Oh well lots of the Scots (especially from the Lowlands) were not Jacobites and fought on the English side. Good luck with your family talk.

Enjoy your day.

Pre 1855 I found an ancestor's birth/baptism recorded on the same image as his future wife. Saved me money - two for the price of one.

Dorrie

Just had to pop in and agree with the above.  I found a baptism/birth for a child and as an extra bonus, further up the page, a name popped out and saw the adult baptism/birth a few months before the birth for the father :D  With the  May 1855 death of the aforementioned father's father, it listed all the siblings with the ages :D

Enjoy your trip Hurworth.

Cheers

I don't suppose there is access to the internet at ScotlandsPeople?
There never used to be, but I heard a rumour that there now is.

I enjoyed your 'travel blog'.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
