Hi, this is probably a long shot but i have been wanting to find a picture of my great grandad mainly for my grandad as his father left for war when he was just a boy and died in Dunkirk. My grandad does not remember him as he was too young.

I see group pictures of other battalions and wondered if perhaps one was taken with my great grandad Henry Leonard Squires who served in the 4th Battalion Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry.

He served in the France and Belgium Campaign, 1939/40

I've been trying to find a picture of the battalion but so far without success. I did come across his memorial on www.findagrave.com, but I'm sure you already have seen that.

Thank you for trying I really appreciate it! The only photo i have been able to find is the one i have attached here. It is of a captain who is of the 4th Btn , it does not list any of the other officers names but they could also be 4th Btn. It was taken in March 1940 In Attiches, France.

Henry died 27th May 1940 At Dunkirk

I have also seen the Grave index, although the look has been updated since i last visited. I have put the link in to the picture.

I have a signed copy of the ox and bucks war chronicle for this period. It is very detailed and they really did get put through the mill in France. I will find it out this weekend as there are group photos in it although I think its officer groups.

Hi no im after Henry Leonard Squires, i was hoping he may have been one of the men in the photograph but no names are listed except for Captain Fleming. The 3rd one from the left, the tallest one looks a bit like my grandad. Henry Leonard Squires was his father, but my grandad does not remember what he looked like and has no pictures of him so ive been really wanting to find a picture.
