Am I understanding you want to only find his war records or perhaps from his birth 1913

My father in law's records didn't show much at all, my mother in law applied for any records after his death in 1984, she also had to prove who she was and the relationship
he was a prisoner of war, perhaps that is why there wasn't much information about him

To be honest, I would love to know more about his war record but I feel that it's likely I know all I ever will about that. In that case, I'd be very keen to trace his wife and son, where they are and what happened to them.

His service number and the fact that he was a sergeant when he died strongly suggests that he was a pre-war regular soldier.  2 R Sussex were a regular battalion, stationed in Ireland when war broke out.  They went to France in May 1940 so his active service was, sadly, very short. If his marriage was in service it would be on the record.  His date of death being more than 25 years ago, you should be able to get his full detailed record from MOD.  That said, you may be content with what you have?

I happened upon this blog and would be interested to make contact with rwalk74.   My wife, Judy Williams (nee Walker) is in fact Tony Walkers half sister - and still alive!   Sgt Tony Walker was killed at Hazebrucke in 1940 and we have actually visited his grave (in the same location).   He was killed in Hazebrucke Station whilst defending the retreat to Dunkirk.

rwalk74 hasn't been back to the site since 2018 but if you click on their profile title you can send a message and if they are using the same email it should get there.  You have to make 3 posts before you can do this so reply to this one first and then again!  Here's the how to do it page:
