Richard Bird abt 1883

Richard Bird married Elizabeth Lottie Maria Morling 1904 Romford, Essex. The 1911 census shows the family living in Ilford and Richard showing born abt 1883 Bow, London. There does not appear to be a birth registration for him.
There is a family in 1901 living in Grays Thurrock, Essex which may be his. Mother Grace(1859) and children Sybilla(1881),Richard(1883 Bow) and Gertrude(1891). Same family in 1891 Islington with head of house William B Bird and Richard showing (1884 London)
Gro birth index shows Sibylla birth registered 1880 West Ham with mmn Fredrick. The only other birth showing mmn Fredrick is an unnamed male 1881 West Ham who appears to die shortly after birth. Getrude birth does not show up.
I could not find Richard in 1939 but wife Elizabeth is in Margate with youngest daughter and showing that she is married. Elizabeth dies 1971 Margate.
I am wondering if Richard and Gertrude are adopted. A possible death for Richard is 1948 Deptford.

Richard  - Army records says born c.1881 Exeter

Seems strange that both his parents were born in Devon and he gives his place of birth for the army as Exeter Devon?

One thing that struck me as peculiar is the 1881 birth record for the unnamed Bird male . There are actually two records for Sep West Ham. Two different volumes but the same page number. I did not know what to make of that.

Have not gone back tat far. I have been trying to figure out Richard and his family. Some of them are a puzzle. They are very distant relatives so I am loath to buy certs but I think I will need a couple of marriage certs.

Family seem to come from Wembworthy Devon which comes under Taunton.
