PEARCE & SKINNER
« on: Wednesday 27 June 18 03:50 BST (UK) »
My Grandfather, Jack Thomas Pearce, was born in or around 1901 in Dover, Kent, England.  He came to Canada around the time of WW2.  I am trying to find any record of a marriage between granddad and a woman named Florence Skinner.  My mother believes the marriage took place in Montreal, perhaps in the Unitarian church, but it could also have taken place in England or in Ontario.

Would appreciate any help.

Right man, but this was his first marriage (to my Grandmother).  Both wives were named Florence.
Grandma & Grandpa were divorced and she went on to remarry.  I found that marriage record, so that confirmed that they were, in fact, legally divorced.
I remember hearing that churches here, in Canada, would not marry a divorced person.  So if he did actually marry Florence #2, it would have had to be civil or in a Unitarian church.

I don't have exact dates but I believe it was sometime in the early to mid 1940's, in England.  I have no idea how to get the details on the divorce.

Where and when did his first wife remarry  :)

I doubt you will get much information on the divorce if records are available, I was just after a date and Country  ;D
